We had to start somewhere.

We decided to start here: the Nouvelles Galeries Annecy, right in the heart of the city. Not quite the center, not quite somewhere else—a place that has watched the city come and go for decades and has come to know it well.

“Vue d’ici” is the kind of blog we’d have loved to read: neither a travel guide nor a list of tips. Rather, it’s the perspective of someone who lives there, who knows the city without pretending to know it all, and who takes the time to watch things change with the seasons.

Because Annecy is changing. The lake isn’t the same in July as it is in November. Neither are the Nouvelles Galeries Annecy—stores are evolving, restaurants are opening, and events punctuate the year. We’re sharing these insights from the inside, with the perspective of those who’ve watched the seasons come and go from the same location.
